Pathways from Re-Offending

Pathways from Re-Offending, currently running in HMP Wormwood Scrubs, offers industry recognised training in graphic design and media to selected offenders approaching release. The programme is continued at the Trust’s training centre post release.

Ex-offenders are then guided into work placements or employment by staff with expert knowledge of the industry and an understanding of the barriers faced after leaving prison.

The Trust broke new ground with a previous Pathways from Re-Offending course by arranging for a serving prisoner from Holloway to make her “maiden speech” in the House of Lords, highlighting the problems prisoners face.

The current course in HMP Wormwood Scrubs is attracting government recognition for reducing re-offending rates for participants from 68% (national average) to 22%.
