Work Preparation

The Work Preparation Programme is for people who have a disability and are unemployed and looking for work. If you have a physical disability, mild learning difficulties or a mild to moderate sensory impairment, then this course could help you.

You will learn how to:

• Write a good CV
• Write covering letters to employers
• Fill out job application forms
• Improve your self-confidence and assertiveness
• Develop better interview techniques

Attendance will be agreed with your Jobcentreplus Disability Employment Advisor, but is typically for 15 hours per week for between 8 and 21 weeks. By the end of the progamme you should expect to be in work experience, employed, self-employed or looking at further education or training.

Work Preparation provides you with travel expenses for bus or train fares.
